I just finished my second week of my new job. I am now a Certified Hearing Impaired Specialist for the district. They offered me a job in October but we did not feel it was the right thing to do for the family, me working full time, so I declined the offer. They came back to me in December and I told them I was willing to work from 9-1:30 and they accepted. So I am now a working girl (too bad I have not run into Harrison Ford yet....).
I am enjoying it so far and the girl I am replacing has been a wonderful help -- to bad she is leaving, I think we would have been friends. Anyhow, so now it is Christmas Break!!! Yeah! I am ready for some sort of breather so I can get my house in order for the new year!
Random thoughts on trying to be a sane mother and wife and still remain JUST ME!-------- wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, scrapper, runner/walker, teacher, chef, house cleaner, pet owner, decorator, cheerleader, motivator, taxi driver......

TGIF
It's Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEah!
Fridays are a little strange here in Utah. The schools in our district all get out early. For example, a normal day goes till 3:25 for the elementary kids, but on Fridays they get out at 1:25. Which is fine for us cuz I am a domestic goddess and the only thing it is interrupting is my ability to go to a 11 am movie versus a 1:30 movie. But, what if you worked?? As far as I can see there are no after school care programs going on either. What happens to those kids? Where do they go?? These are questions I ponder.
Anyhow so the kids will all invade the house early today-- I better do some pre-cleaning!

Long time--- it's been like dog years!
Man, it has been along time since I have posted --
I must confess however, that I have been busy since 2007....
Let see in a nut shell I got a job, enjoyed working in the classroom again.
Was told my husband was up to move summer of 2009. It got changed to April of 2009, I quit my job, then the day I was packing up my classroom for the other teacher to come in, I was told we were staying until June. I was disappointed that I had I quit my job so early and sulked by going to the movies and shopping!
We moved from Florida to Utah this past summer. This was a long and agonizing trip with two cars two drivers, 4 hermit crabs, 3 fish (only one survived) and a beagle, not to mention the various plants that I could not leave and oh yeah, the 3 kids!!!
We got here safe though (minus forgetting someones luggage in St Louis).
I interviewed for a hearing specialist position in the school district here and was told that they liked me but they hired someone else but wanted to keep me around as a sub. This was fine since I gave up on them after 2 months of not hearing anything and put my name on the districts sub list.
I have since subbed for them and for another school in the district and I am enjoying it -- I really miss teaching regularly.
I am also supporting my three kids in their transition to new schools -- I have a junior high guy and two elementary kids. They are adjusting well -- probably better than I did at that age!
And because I was bored and one beagle was just not enough (plus I was getting baby fever with all the huge families around here and we all know I am not having a baby again) I did the next best thing!!! We got a beagle puppy. I am now remembering why we got Oshkosh at an older age!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW, am I tired!
Anyhow the two dogs are getting along famously and Lindy has adjusted to her family wonderfully. My Hubby picked her out because she was standing away from everyone else and he saw she was getting picked on (what a hero) Now he is Lindy's favorite human!!!!
So now my immediate mission is to potty train my puppy!
I am also currently working to lose weight and and exercise -- Oh, this is a monstrous undertaking for me but I am almost ---SHHHH---40 and I don't want things to start breaking right now so I have joined weight watchers (I have a lot to lose) and with a bit of a challenge and motivation in the form of my wonderful brother-in-law, the gantlet has been thrown and I have answered with a lose of 15 pounds so far! (this is the first time I have successful lost and stuck to anything !) I will keep you updated regularly on how this is going.
So now you are about up to date on the Biggies in my life -- I will promise to update this more regularly!!!
God Bless

CKU Rocked!!!!
Well Hell0ooooo!
I know it has been along time since I blogged -- I was reminded of that by my roomie at CKU!
Just got back and had an awesome time! Loved Tim's classes and in the future would make sure that I signed up for those first!!! I made a way cute picture ornament to wear and learned painting techniques. Then I bought a couple (6) dabbers to get me started -- If you have never used the dabbers from Ranger they are wonderful -- and this was my first painting experience and we all know how messy I am but it was so much fun!!!!
I took the Bazzill classes too and got 12 layouts done. Great products but was disappointed that it was not more technique with color-- that is was I was looking for.
Sketches with Becky Higgins was great-- I just love her! Did some more layouts and have homework to finish up (in my spare time)
My album track was Ali Edwards -Week in my life -- let me just say I learned that I am really very boring -- I do the same thing everyday but it made me appreciate me and I learned that scrapbook pages are basically pictures and words and that is all they have to be! It was so cool to meet Ali and see her albums. The album although not finished has all the basic elements completed and now it is just cropping the pictures down. I love the simplicity of it and until now have never done many pages about me much less a whole album. It was very refreshing and unnerving at the same time.
I joined a dorm and in the dorm contest we came in 3rd place -- got lots of free goodies and met lots of nice people.
I can't wait to go again -- perhaps I will go to the one in Houston next year-- maybe even get my sister to join me???
