Summertime -
That great time when we can sleep in, stay in our pj's all day and as Julia Roberts said in Pretty Woman, "lay like broccoli". We are chillin'. At least we are on this our first day of vacation. Is there anything we could be doing? Why sure I need to pack for our trip this weekend. (kids are going to Grandma and Grandpa and hubby and I are going to Colorado to see my brother graduate from the Air Force Academy), we need to clean house (I hate coming home to a messy house), I need to finish up scrapping, we need to well... get dressed and eat breakfast! Lots to do but for now we are enjoying just being. No one is fighting in fact everyone is playing, the oldest has not emerged from his blanket cocoon yet so all is well. For now I am going to enjoy my cup of coffee and the semi- quiet of a summer morning.
Random thoughts on trying to be a sane mother and wife and still remain JUST ME!-------- wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, scrapper, runner/walker, teacher, chef, house cleaner, pet owner, decorator, cheerleader, motivator, taxi driver......

Here I come Kindergarten
Well, as of noon today I now have a Kindergartner in my house.
How did this happen? Where did the time go? I am asking myself those very questions...
my last baby off to elementary school in the fall. I know as parents this is what we strive for (especially SAHM) but for it to actually happen and to see the kids bloom from one year to the next it is just amazing and a bit of a tug at the ol'heart.
She is so excited to be going to "the brothers" school as a Kindergartner that I think I am gonna have a hard time keeping her home on Monday. (the boys still have school for a couple of more days) She does not understand summer break yet.... Perhaps with a promise to go to the beach or the pool maybe she will stay home with me.

long time no write
Wow it has been awhile since I posted -- but I feel like I am on a treadmill and just.. can't.. reach the... string to... STOP!
Anyhow life is slowing down now that school is winding down and the smell of summer (or rather smoke in my area) is in the air. I have re-registered and registered them for school next year where I will have all three going to the same school! I am so excited about this it will make things a lot simpler as far as carpooling and school events and even days off.
I am seriously thinking (and I don't believe I am about to say this) about running a 1/2 marathon! The Disney 1/2 is coming up in January. 8 years ago I ran the whole marathon at Disney but did not train really well and while it was not a fantastic time I did finish which for me as a non-runner at that time was all that mattered. But now I am thinking about going back and just concentrating on 13 miles (the 1/2) and see if I can beat my 3 hour time which is what I did the 1/2 in 8 years ago. Still a lot of thinking to do about this since it would be a real commitment and I would want to be in better shape for it than I was in the past. I'll keep you posted.
